Morgan County, Missouri was organized 05 January, 1833, from Cooper County, Missouri. The county was named for Daniel Morgan, a Revolutionary War general. The county seat is Versailles. The original courthouse burned in 1887.

Welcome to Morgan County, Missouri! This is a site celebrating the heritage of Morgan County, Missouri. My name is Laurie Kelley-Biswell and my ancestors come from not only Morgan County but all of the surrounding counties as well. This is a work in progress site and is part of the American History and Genealogy Project. This site is family oriented and will provide opportunites for you to contribute the data that you have collected. If you have data that you would like to submit to this site to share with others, send them to me in plain text format (pictures may be sent as .jpg or .gif formats) and I will add them to this site. All contributors will be recognized! I currently live on the border of Morgan and Camden Counties and can do some of the look-ups in both counties. Please feel free to E-MAIL me.
